KERNERSVILLE, NC – Today, Omega participated in the unveiling of the Verizon Innovative Learning Lab at East Forsyth Middle School. Along with members from Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, Verizon and the city of Kernersville, students cut the ribbon and officially opened their new hands-on learning classroom. Using a technology-infused curriculum, the new space will allow students to bring designs to life on a 3D printer, use virtual reality headsets and create electric circuits to power light bulbs. Omega is proud to have donated its time and miscellaneous materials to the project.
East Forsyth Middle Schoolers officially opened their new Verizon Innovative Learning Lab on Wednesday, February 19th. Students can now create designs on a 3D printer, experience virtual-reality headsets and create electric circuits to power lights bulbs. Omega Construction donated its services as well as miscellaneous materials to assist in transforming the space.
In the same room as the media center, students now have access to hands-on learning experiences to help under-resource students receive the technology-infused curriculum and prepare them for today’s digital economy. Verizon works in partnership with Heart of America, who works with the district teams to construct the space, and Arizona State University, who provides a curriculum and training for teachers.
Omega would like to thank the following vendors who donated their time to assist with the completion of this project and who also donated their time and miscellaneous materials.
