Description

The 80,000 square-foot charter school in Summerfield, NC, was constructed using the design-build delivery method. The project was constructed utilizing tilt-up concrete construction with conventional structural steel joist and deck components and an EDPM roof system. It includes 35 classrooms, chemistry and biology labs, band and chorus areas, common areas, locker rooms, administrative offices, and a gymnasium.

 Omega Construction provided comprehensive design-build services. Preconstruction methods were utilized to develop the project requirements and outline budget parameters. Construction progressed ahead of schedule and within the targeted budget. Omega secured occupancy for the middle school and administration areas to allow the school to open for the 2017 school year while the remainder of the project was completed.
