Omega Construction completed a 68,500-square-foot manufacturing facility and corporate office for Frenzelit North America, a division of Germany-based Frenzelit Werke GmbH. The new manufacturing facility houses Frenzelit North America’s Expansion Joint Division and Frenzelit Sealing Systems Space
provided for the production, sales, marketing, and logistics departments. The production building is a structural steel framing system with 6” thick insulated metal panel walls. The floor slab is 6” reinforced concrete with a light-reflective hardener. The two-story office wing is also a structural steel framing system with exterior walls consisting of structural steel studs, insulation, and EIFS. The roofing system is a 60-mil white TPO membrane with R-30 insulation and insulated curtain wall was used to accent the lobby entrance. To provide the European style of Frenzelit’s existing German facilities, many products were imported from Germany and installed under Omega’s supervision including skylights, office windows, storefront doors, toilet partitions, and certain plumbing fixtures. Modern glass elements were used to separate the office areas from the production area making it possible for the office staff to remain in direct visual contact with production employees.
