Forbush Volunteer Fire Department

Yadkinville, NC

Omega Construction provided full construction design-build service and preconstruction services for the expansion and renovation of the Forbush Volunteer Fire Department. The project was completed in a nine-month schedule which included two phases—an expansion of new bays and renovation of the existing bay area—to keep the fire department fully operational during the construction process. The expansion project included adding six new apparatus bays, a gear room, an electrical room, a laundry room, and an air refill room. The renovation portion consisted of turning the old bays into a large community room with a kitchen, restrooms with shower facilities, several offices, a small conference room, and a fitness center. The exterior of the building involved adding accent brick and a storefront to replace the old bay doors, along with thin brick on the rear to seamlessly blend the new and existing building. This revitalization will help the Forbush Volunteer Fire Department continue its important work in the community.
