New extended-stay hotel strengthens Savannah’s hospitality corridor and supports continued regional growth

SAVANNAH, GA — April 10, 2026 Omega Construction, in partnership with Ideal Hospitality Investments, OM Design Solutions, TLC Engineering Solutions and Coleman Company, Inc., celebrated the completion of the new TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 2002 Chatham Center Drive. The project officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 9, marking a significant addition to Savannah’s growing hospitality landscape.

The five-story, 68,914-square-foot hotel introduces 112 thoughtfully designed extended-stay suites to one of Savannah’s fastest-growing corridors, supporting the city’s continued rise as a premier destination for both business and leisure travel.

Purpose-built to meet the evolving needs of modern travelers, the property features a mix of studio and one-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens, flexible living and workspaces, and enhanced amenities including a 24-hour fitness center, expansive lobby and lounge areas, and outdoor gathering spaces with fire pits and grill stations—creating a highly functional, comfortable experience for longer stays.

The project represents a significant milestone not only for the development team but also for the broader Savannah community, contributing to the ongoing momentum along the I-16/Chatham Parkway corridor.

The ribbon-cutting event brought together project partners, local leaders and members of the business community to celebrate the successful delivery of the hotel and the collaborative effort behind it.
