1975
Borrowing the name Omega from a nearby golf ball, Omega Construction opened for business on January 1, 1975

It just hit me. God said, ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end’ and knew I wanted this to be my last job and through God’s grace,
Paul Covington,
it was.

Omega’s first large Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) project was the
New Piedmont Tobacco warehouse project

1978-79
Paul pioneered a double-crane approach to erect a pre-engineered metal building while working on a project for Stoneville Furniture, known for their metal dinette sets

It always stuck with me to do what I could to keep people safe. I pioneered the two-crane approach because while it helped with speed, it also made the process of erecting the building safer.
