It just hit me. God said, ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end’ and knew I wanted this to be my last job and through God’s grace,
it was.

It always stuck with me to do what I could to keep people safe. I pioneered the two-crane approach because while it helped with speed, it also made the process of erecting the building safer.

Our first hospitality project was a Holiday Inn in South Hill, Virginia. In 2000, we started getting a lot of calls for hotels. We were building two or three hotels a year for different customers, and it expanded from there.

Greg and I met in 2010. I would have loved to hire him but didn’t because I didn’t feel the timing was right. I wanted to make sure Omega would make it through the recession.

The recession is what brought us together—Paul was in need of an exit plan to allow him to retire. Due to the recession, our previous company was going out of business. Omega’s great reputation and strong financial position were a perfect match for what we and Paul both needed.
